Extensive renovation of exsisting waterfront home

A mundane house that sat on a property with extensive views of the St. George river and the related maritime activety. This structure was far closer to the water than current regulations permit. By utilizing the expansions provisions of the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance, the house was enlarged to its full potential for a couple to use as their summer residence and eventually their retirement home. Poorly lit interior spaces were replaced with an open plan with larger windows to take advantage of the panoramic views. The roof was removed and a new suite of bedrooms fitted into the new, highly-pitched roof. Local knowledge of contractors enabled RK Design to bring this project to completion at a very competitive price.
